What is GST Registration?

GST (Goods and Services Tax) is a unified indirect tax system in India. If you're a business or service provider whose turnover exceeds a certain threshold, you must register for GST.

Who Needs GST Registration?

  • Bank account details (cancelled cheque, bank statement).

  • Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) for companies and LLPs.

GST Registration Process:

  • Visit GST Portalwww.gst.gov.in

  • Fill Part A – basic details (PAN, mobile, email).

  • Verification – via OTP.

  • Fill Part B – business details, upload documents.

  • ARN Generation – Application Reference Number is issued.

  • Officer Verification – GST officer reviews the application.

  • GSTIN Issued – on approval, you get a GST Identification Number and certificate.

  • Government fees = Zero (registration is free).

  • Professional fees (if you hire a CA/consultant) = varies (around ₹1,000–₹5,000+).
